A new multi-agency initiative aiming to steer at risk 12-17 year-olds away from crime will be rolled out in East Clare later this year.
It comes as the Department of Justice has announced two new Youth Diversion Projects will be created here and in North Tipperary.

Youth agency Foróige has been chosen to lead the programmes and will now develop services to prevent children as young as eight from engaging in anti-social behaviour and lifelong criminality.
Junior Justice Minister Niall Collins says “Diverting vulnerable children away from a life of crime and giving them an opportunity to build a better future for themselves is key to our commitment to building safer and stronger communities”.
