Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred in Kilmihil at around midnight on Holy Thursday – the 61 year old occupant of a home was beaten with an iron bar, sustaining a broken wrist and minor facial injuries.
The incident follows a similar crime in Inagh 48 hours earlier, as well as several other burglaries in recent days in Ballina, Ennis, Cratloe, Kilkee and at a supermarket in Crusheen, during which it’s reported that cigarettes valued at up to 25 thousand euro were taken.
