Garda Resources Set For Clare’s Coastal Areas This Summer Amid Anticipated Crowds

Extra Garda resources are set for Clare’s coastal areas this summer.

It follows concerns raised about an influx of tourists and staycationers to both the West and the North of the county in the coming months.

Calls have also been made at this week’s meeting of the Clare Joint Policing Committee for Ennistymon Garda Station to be given resources to open 24/7, amid alleged anti-social behaviour taking place in Lahinch.

 

Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville, Chief Superintendent of the Clare Garda Division, Sean Colleran, says in spite of tight resources, the need for an enhanced policing response in the county is recognised.
