It comes as local Gardaí investigate what they describe as unofficial motoring events, held in public and at night, including one on the night of March 7th last between Lahinch and Ballyvaughan, involving up to 70 cars.

The eight suspects who have been charged have been released on bail, and will appear before Ennis District Court later this month.
