A garda investigation is underway into the theft of several cars in Clare overnight.
At around 5 o’clock this Friday morning, Gardaí in Ennis responded to reports of the theft of a vehicle on Turnpike Road.

On arrival at the scene, the occupants of the stolen car rammed the official Garda patrol vehicle.
Gardaí say the occupants of the stolen car fled the scene on foot, while two other vehicles were observed fleeing the scene.
No injuries were sustained by Garda members during the incident.
Gardaí say they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding this incident, including the theft of a number of vehicles in Ennis overnight.
