Garda Appeal For Witnesses Following Fatal Crash In Clare

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a crash that's claimed the life of a man in County Clare.

The man, in his thirties, died after a car and a motorcycle collided at Doonagore Cross, near Doolin yesterday evening. 

Emergency services were alerted around quarter to five yesterday evening after a car and a motorcycle collided on the Doolin to Liscannor Road between Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher.

A 35 year-old man, who was the front seat passenger in the car, was seriously injured in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem examination is due to take place later.

The driver of the car and a female passenger, both in their thirties, were also injured in the collision, though their injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

While, the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and is being treated at University Hospital Limerick.

The road was closed for a time to facilitate a forensic examination but has since re-opened.
