Gap In Driving Test Wait Times Widening In Clare

The waiting time for driving test at two Clare test centres remains far above the national average.

It comes as the Road Safety Authority has said it’s ‘delivered’ on its Driving Test Action Plan, reducing waiting times to a 10-week average

74,000 driving tests conducted between June and August, which is a 17 percent increase on the same period last year.

The RSA says applications remain at record levels, with 192,373 driving test applications received in the first eight months of the year.

As of today, the waiting time for a driving test in Ennis has reduced to 8.5 weeks, however the wait time in both Shannon and Kilrush is 13.5 weeks, which is three and a half weeks above the national average and five weeks longer than the county town.
