A law lecturer in this region has warned if Joe Biden decides to “braisen it out come what may”, it would result in Donald Trump being elected US President with a comfortable majority.
It comes after Biden made two high profile mistakes during a press conference about NATO support for Ukraine last night.
It was supposed to be a media conference promoting progress made at a Nato conference in renewing military support for Ukraine.
Instead, it turned into Joe Biden repeatedly insisting he’s fit enough to be US President, and to beat Donald Trump in November’s election.
He confused his vice president with Mr Trump last night – that was after introducing Ukraine’s leader as President Putin.
Despite the two gaffes, the US President insists he’s fit and capable of governing America.
There’s now a groundswell of opposition to Joe Biden’s continuing in the race, within his own party.
A Law Lecturer at the University of Galway says, however, that while politically he should step down, it’s ultimately up to him.
Larry Donnelly is warning though, it will have serious consequences for the Democrats.
