A Law Lecturer in this region is expecting Donald Trump’s second tenure as US President to upset the global ecosystem at times, but that it won’t be apocalyptic.
The 47th President of the United States has already signed a raft of executive orders since entering office including a blanket pardon for those involved in the January 6th riots.
Trump’s supporters have been reacting with joy following his inauguration yesterday.
He’s already been hard at work in the Oval Office and has controversially granted a pardon that will apply to over 1,500 people who stormed the US Capitol building in 2021.
President Trump hasn’t stopped there though, having declared a national emergency on the border with Mexico and removing the US from the Paris Climate accords.
He says he won’t be committing to wind energy and his hoping to increase a raft of new trade taxes to increase America’s bottom line.
He’s also hoping to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, to expand oil drilling and to make Greenland and the Panama Canal US territories.
Columnist and Law Lecturer at University of Galway, Larry Donnelly believes Trump’s administration will be in a position to make a very strong deal.
