Future of Gaa centre secured

The future of the Michael Cusack Centre and three permanent jobs at the North Clare Facility have been secured with the announcement of 170,000 euro in funding.

The funds of over 57 thousand euro per annum over the next three years are being provided under the government’s Community Service Programme and will enable the centre in Carron to employ three people on a full time basis.

The Michael Cusack Centre is dedicated to the founder of the GAA and located on his original homestead in Carron but announcing the funds, Minister Tony Killeen says it’s a valuable community facility as well as a popular tourist attraction
