The President of the Clare Law Association insists the future is bright for Kilrush courthouse despite cancelled sittings there due to the presence of a bat colony.

A group of the rare creatures have been recently discovered in the roof of the facility while repairs were underway.

Procedures must be followed as the bats are a protected species, and the courthouse may not be in a position to hold scheduled sittings until November, with some sittings being moved to Ennis in the meantime.
