Forecasters warn that south to southwest winds will reach speeds of up to 70 km/h, with gusts nearing 100 km/h.
The warning has been issued for western and southern coastal counties, while conditions have led to the cancelation of a number of ferry crossings on the Irish Sea.
It’s due to remain in place until 4 o’clock this afternoon.
Gardai, meanwhile, are warning of wet roads throughout Clare following overnight rain, though they say there are no serious problems.
