University Hospital Limerick is urging people to only attend it’s Accident and Emergency Department if absolutely necessary.

It comes as officials continue to tackles an outbreak of the winter vomiting virus at the hospital – there have been 9 confirmed and 8 suspected cases, affecting 4 wards.
Restrictions are in place in the entire facility, and anyone wishing to visit is requested to contact the hospital.
