Further indications of cut in former Anglo debt

 

There are further indications today that a deal could be done to re-negotiate the debt of the former Anglo Irish Bank.

A three-point-one-billion euro payment is due by the weekend – but is likely to be replaced by a long-term Government bond.

The Central Bank Governor Patrick Honohan has said he’s hopeful of a successful re-negotiation.

And speaking to in China overnight, Taoiseach Enda Kenny wasn’t confirming anything, but hinted that he’ll have more to say in his speech to the Fine Gael Ard Fheis on Saturday:
