HSE documents seen by the Irish Times indicate that the Health Service Executive is proposing a further 17 million euro in cuts across all areas in the Mid West. – on top of those already announced.

It’s claimed Ennis General is facing the biggest reduction with a budget cut of almost a million euro – Nenagh is facing a cut of 855 thousand and 440 thousand at Limerick Regional.

On primary care, the figures propose a €2.8 million cut in grants to voluntary agencies. A 1 million cut that would result in the cessation of the Community Intervention Team service in Clare and North Tipperary and reduction of the service in Limerick.

A HSE spokesperson says any proposed reduction in services must go through an approval process.
