Further Growth In Clare Class Sizes

Over a quarter of Clare school-children (28.2%) are in classrooms of at least 30 pupils.

Figures released by the Department of Education shows the pupil-teacher ratio has increased here over the past year, up to 24.1 from 23.3.

This is slightly less than the national average.

Nationally, figures from the Department of Education show more than 124,000 pupils are now in classes of over 30.  That’s up from 121,000 last year and 112,000 in 2012.
