Clare has the fifth highest percentage drop in planning applications this year.

The National Housing Construction Index for the first six months of the year shows planning applications in the county fell by 25% down from 179 last year to 134 in the same period in 2013.
However, planning commencements made in Clare only decreased by 4% from 113 in January to June 2012, to 109 in the same period this year.
Nationally planning applications fell 10 percent with new builds down 14 percent.
The biggest drops were were in Offaly, Leitrim and Sligo.
