The Development of Doolin Pier has suffered another set back.
An Bord Pleanala has ruled that Clare County Council must carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment before it can procced with any work on the 6 million euro project.

It follows a submission to the planning board from surfer groups who are objecting to the location of the new pier which is expected to act as a gateway between Doolin and the Aran Islands.
The full rationale behind the decision has yet to be released by An Bord Pleanala, but it’s understood that one of the reasons for it is that some blasting is required for the project.
