The average cost of a house in Clare has dropped a further 3% from the end of 2011 according to figures released by property website daft.ie

The first three months of 2012 have shown the smallest decline in property prices since 2007 with the national drop in prices at 1.4%
The average price of a home in Clare now stands at just over 156K euro while prices in Galway and Dublin rose at the start of 2012.
Ronan Lyons from daft.ie says the drop is good news but a stabilisation of the market is still a long way off :
