The principal of a North Clare primary school which has been offered a lifeline says she would be “very surprised” if they don’t get the required number of pupils before their new deadline.
Having failed to bring its enrolment figure from seven to 11 by September 30th, Furglan National School has been advised by the Department of Education to submit a ‘Small School Appeal’.

If granted, this appeal will allow the school to retain its schools status and current staffing levels as it continues to source students ahead of next year’s deadline.
