The funeral mass has taken place for the victims of last week’s fire in Clondalkin.

Hundreds of people gathered in St Anne’s church in Shankill in Dublin to pay their respects.

Balloons of cartoon characters including Peppa Pig and Minnie Mouse lined a pew as the five coffins made their way into the church.

The body of 27 year old Annemarie O’Brien was followed by 4 white coffins, one for her daughter Paris, others for her cousins Holly and Jordan – and a final coffin for Annemarie’s unborn baby AJ.

Celebrant priest John O’Connor said it was a tough time for anyone who knew them.

He spoke of the pain this will inflict on the travelling community, coming not long after the Carrickmines fire.

Meanwhile Holly and Jordan’s mother Biddy remains in a critical condition in hospital, as her two children are laid to rest in Bray this afternoon.
