The funeral of Vanessa Whyte and her teenage children will take place in Clare this weekend.
The Barefield native, her 14 year-old son James and 13 year-old daughter Sara Rutledge, were shot and killed at their home in Maguiresbridge last Wednesday morning.
The man suspected of murdering them, 43-year-old Ian Rutledge,was taken to hospital as a result of self-inflicted gunshot wounds, where he remained in critical condition.
He died from his injuries yesterday evening.
Vanessa and her children will lie in repose in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Barefield on Friday.
They’ll be laid to rest together in Templemaley Cemetery on Saturday, following funeral mass in Barefield Church.
In a post on social media, the funeral directors have said “People attending the service of removal and funeral Mass are asked to please wear bright and cheerful colours in their memory”.
