Funeral Of Jason Corbett Takes Place In Limerick

The priest at the funeral of Jason Corbett says it's important to focus on the children of the Limerick man, who have suffered the loss of their father.

A criminal investigation into the death of 39-year-old Jason Corbett is continuing in the United States since his body was found at his home in North Carolina earlier this month.
His funeral is taking place in his native Janesboro this afternoon, after his family secured guardianship of his children Jack and Sarah.
Songbird by Eva Cassidy marked the start of the funeral.  It was the wedding song of Jason and his first wife and mother of Jack and Sarah, Mags Fitzpatrick, who died tragically of an asthma attack in 2006.
A picture of Jason with his children adorns the coffin in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, while a floral tribute spelling out 'Daddy' is nestled among other bouquets at the foot of the coffin.
Jack and Sarah have presented Liverpool and Irish jerseys, while a golf ball and tee and Munster jersey representing the loves of Jason's life, have also been presented during the funeral mass.
Parish Priest Father Pat O'Sullivan, the chief celebrant, thanked the entire community in Limerick and further afield for their support since news of the killing broke.
Jason will be laid to rest next to Mags in Castlemungret Cemetery.
