Fundraising is underway for the Clare branches of the RNLI as the life-saving organisation hits its busiest season.

The group works to ensure people are staying safe when they enter the water and so far this year have saved 167 people from drowning.

A number of events are being held to make sure they have the funds to continue their work in Clare – including the annual ‘Moonlight to Midnight’ walk of the Flaggy Shore in North Clare.

Joe Queally, chairperson of the Ennis RNLI branch, says the generosity of people keeps them going.
