Almost €112,000 has been allocated to Co. Clare for improvement works at the county’s harbours and slipways.
It matches the funding that was allocated last year.
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has a total package of 2.2 million euro to assist local authorities in 13 coastal counties.
The money will go towards undertaking and completing some 52 development and repair projects and slipways and harbours around the country.
In Clare, a total of €111,750 is being provided to the county council.
The largest sum of €48,750 will be used to install access ladders on protected structure and the provision of a new winch at Liscannor Pier.
22,500 will be used to repair and extend the footpath along Cappa Pier, while 21,750 will go towards works at Doolin.
A further €18,750 will be used for the installation of warning signage at slipways around the county.
The funding provided by the Department is on a par with the 112,000 euro that was offered last year.
