Funding of more than €76,000 has been announced for flood works in Cratloe.

The Office of Public Works has given the green light for flood mitigation works at Gullets Cross, Carrowmore, where there have been long-standing drainage issues.

The works will divert the flow from a spring into a nearby stream around 650 metres away and will involve the instillation of ten road gullies and a 250mm storm drain to remove surface water build-up, as well as the upgrade of the existing pipe.
