Funds to repair Clare's damaged coastal infrastructure and flooded farmland could be announced this week.
The Minister for Agriculture and the Marine Simon Coveney is due to meet with the Minister for the Office of Public works, after both he and Brian Hayes inspected the Clare coast in recent weeks.
Minister Coveney told West Clare farmers on Friday that he hopes to announce some finacial support to their plans to rebuild river embankments and reclaim their land in places like Kildysart, Ballynacally and Killimer.
Minister Coveney also visited other areas along Clare's badly-damaged North and West coasts on Friday.
Speaking after a visit to Liscannor, the Minister said he hopes funding can also be found to repair the storm damaged pier there.
Meanwhile, the full cost of the damage caused by Storm Brigid last weekend is expected to be revealed today.
Clare County Council's monthly meeting is due to hear an update on the recent storm damage, and the efforts to repair the hardest-hit areas.
The local authority estimated that Storm Christine at the start of January had inflicted nearly 24 million euro worth of damage, a figure which is set to have increased by many more million following on from last weekend.
