Tidy Towns groups across Clare are to benefit from a major grant to mark 60 years of the competition running.
Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring has announced the €1.4 million scheme, which will be rolled out for the anniversary next year.

Local groups can apply for the grants of between €1,000 and €4,000 – with Ennis set to get the full amount.
Shannon is in line for a €3,000 boost, while smaller communities such as Kilkishen, Labasheeda and Connolly fall into the €1,000 category.
In all, 41 towns and villages in the Banner county can benefit from the fund.
