Funding has been approved for a coastal erosion and flood risk management study for Doolin.
The Minister for State with responsibility for the OPW, Simon Harris has today agreed in principal to provide funding to Clare County Council to undertake the study which will provide information on how to manage future flooding and erosion.
Its expected to cover the 1.5 kilometre stretch of coastline from Crab Island, south of Doolin, to the mount of the River Alfie.
Approval for the studies follows on from funding provided for studies in Quilty, Spanish Point and Whitestrand as well as Kilbaha, New Quay and Aughinis and Clonahincy, Lahinch, Liscannor and Clahanes.
