The Minister for Education has announced funding for the major redevelopment of Lakyle National School in Whitegate.

The work will involve the provision of a new classroom to include en-suite toilets for assisted users, a resource room and staff room as well as the reconfiguring of two mainstream classrooms.
The school dates back to October 1909, and the confirmatino of a devolved grant comes following a campaign for upgrade works over the past number of years.
Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has described the allocation as a significant investment in the future of the Whitegate community.
