Uisce Eireann has confirmed essential works will be undertaken until 6pm tomorrow evening, and cited bursts on both December 20th and 23rd as contributing factors to low pressure or outages.

Doonbeg resident Geraldine O’Brien, says the ongoing lack of guaranteed clean water supply is unfair and unjust.

Watermain bursts prior to the 20th December, followed by a further burst on December 23rd are contributing to low pressure or outages.

The 4km section of aged watermain that is prone to bursts is currently being replaced along the N67 from Doonbeg Village, onto L-2026 and end near Baltard National School.

There is a temporary supply in place until mains rehab works are completed. The temporary supply may limit pressures in some areas, at certain times during the day.

A caretaker has been dispatched today to investigate the network to see if more water can be supplied to areas with low pressure.
