A local lobby group is making renewed calls for the urgent reopening of the Emergency Department in Ennis.
The ‘Friends of Ennis General Hospital’ has issued a 20 page booklet to Health Minister, Stephen Donnelly outlining their case for an additional A&E service in the MidWest.
The document claims that the UL Hospital Group’s operating area of Clare, Limerick & North Tipperary encompasses a population of over 400,000 & is the only such region in the country not supported by at least two Emergency Departments.
Friends of Ennis General Hospital Chair, Angela Coll believes the evidence to reinstate a model three facility in Clare is clear.
