Fresh Spike In UHL Overcrowding

There has been a dramatic rise in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the INMO show 49 people are waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 27 of those in the emergency department.

It’s the highest number of any hospital in the country and follows a fortnight where trolley numbers remained relatively low at the Dooradoyle facility.
