There’s calls for a ban on XL Bullys to be introduced immediately in Clare, after a child was attacked in the south-east of the county.

Clare’s County Dog Warden was dispatched to the incident, where a second XL Bully was discovered at the premises, and both dogs were subsequently destroyed.

It comes just one month after 23-year-old Limerick woman Nicole Morey, was killed by her own pets of the same breed.

Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District, Cratloe Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat O’Gorman, insists an outright ban is the only way to prevent future attacks.
