Fresh calls have been made in Clare for the local authority to be given increased powers to move illegal encampments.
It comes in light of concerns raised over two encampments in Ennis; one close to the Rocky Road Roundabout and another close to Ennis National School.

Clare County Council is responsible for the public road network and for dealing with illegal encampments on or in the vicinity of the road network and says its working with other relevant agencies to address the matter.
Fianna Fáil Councillor Clare Colleran Molloy raised this at a recent meeting of the local authority and believes more power is needed:
