Fresh Calls For Clarity Over Aer Lingus’ Commitment To Shannon After Taoiseach Staff Meeting

Fresh calls are being made for clarity on Aer Lingus’ commitment to Shannon Airport amid uncertainty on the outcome of the Taoiseach’s meeting with airline cabin crew members here.

Micheal Martin held a virtual gathering with nominated staff members yesterday to hear their concerns regarding the closure of the airline’s Midwest base, with many employees understood to have already taken up options of redeployment or redundancy.

Aer Lingus have yet to fly from Shannon since the onset of the pandemic, with its Heathrow routes understood to be resuming again in the autumn, and transatlantic travel in 2022.
