Fresh anger has erupted after its emerged that works aimed at dealing with congestion at one of North Clare’s most notorious traffic blackspots could take up to four years to complete.
It’s after local representatives called on the council to provide a timeline for the provision of a bridge crossing at the Inagh river, in light of the serious grid lock at Blake’s corner.
There was traffic chaos in Ennistymon for a number of hours last Friday, after a broken down bus and a truck, blocked the junction on the popular tourist route.
Clare County Council is assuring that every effort will be made to speed up the process where possible, while further consideration will be given to any measure that will improve traffic flow.
