Members of the public can avail of free mouth cancer checks today as part of an initiative to mark Mouth Cancer Awareness Day.
Over 700 dental surgeries around the country will be participating – along with the Cork and Dublin Dental University Hospitals.

300 cases of mouth cancer are detected in Ireland each year and this type of cancer now kills more Irish people than cervical cancer or skin melanoma.
