The Junior Finance Minister says the introduction of free GP care for under 5s would be a good start on the path to universal healthcare.

Cabinet ministers have signed off on the major elements of Budget 2014 which will be announced tomorrow.
It includes a package of measures targeting young families – among them, is free GP care for all children under 5 – at a cost of around 40 million euro.
Minister Brian Hayes says the Government has a mandate to introduce universal healthcare – and this would be the beginning.
