Four people were rescued from a cruiser that ran aground in Lough Derg.
The alarm was raised at about half past five yesterday, when the Coast Guard requested the RNLI Lifeboat to attend a vessel at Cribby Island, near Mountshannon.
But the crew located the vessel close to the Tipperary Shore at Parker’s Point shortly after 6 o’clock.
After navigating shallow waters and rocks on the surface, the crew set the vessel up for a tow.
It was secured to the harbour at Garrykennedy at 7pm, nobody was injured in the incident.
