Four People Rescued After Vessel Ran Aground In Lough Derg

Four people have been rescued after a 30 foot vessel ran aground on Lough Derg.

Killaloe Coast Guard were alerted just before 5 o'clock yesterday evening when a person on-board the vessel contacted the emergency services asking for assistance.

A boat crew and a mobile unit were dispatched to the scene and a crew member boarded the vessel to assess the condition of those on-board as well as the vessel itself.

All crew were found safe and well and the vessel was towed off the rocks and brought back to Killaloe Coast Guard.
