Four Men Arrested Following Ennis Violent Disorder Incident

Four men have been arrested in connection with a violent disorder incident in Ennis, in which a vehicle was rammed.

A search and arrest operation has been conducted in relation to an altercation which took place on the Watery Road this week.

Shortly after three o’clock on Monday afternoon, Gardaí received a report of a vehicle being rammed and an altercation involving a group of males with weapons on the Watery Road in Ennis.

Gardaí attended the scene and no injuries were reported.

With the assistance of the Garda Armed Support Unit, a search and arrest operation was subsequently carried out on Thursday.

Four men were arrested and detained at Garda Stations in Clare under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

During the course of the operation, a number of items of evidential value were also seized.

Two of the men, aged in their late teens and 20s, have been charged and are expected to appear before Ennis District Court this morning, while the other two men, who are in their 20s and 50s, are still being detained.

Investigations are ongoing.
