At least two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following a series of crashes on the M18 this morning.

At least four cars left the road between Gort and Ennis, as cold conditions and a heavy shower of hail led to treacherous conditions for a time.
Portions of the route were closed for a time to allow ambulance access and for additional gritting, but it has now fully re-opened.
Icy conditions were reported at Lissycasey on the Ennis/Kilrush Road, but this has now improved.
