Stockton’s Wing ‘Elated’ After Being Honoured In Ennis

One of Clare’s best loved bands have received one of the county’s highest honours.

Tributes were paid to Stockton’s Wing last night, as the Council honoured them with a civic reception for forty years of their unique sound.

From playing a few tunes in Brogan’s Bar in Ennis in 1977 to performing a packed-out concert at this year’s Fleadh Cheoil, Stockton’s Wing has had a colourful 40 years in music.

Last night saw that 40 years marked with a civic reception in Áras Contae an Chláir, where friends and family came together to reflect on four decades of music.
It was an emotional night all round with everyone eager to share their own memories of the band’s legacy in Ennis and across the Banner county.

Current and former band members were in attendance, including the newest additions Karol Lynch and Tara Breen.
