The death has been announced of the retired Parish Priest of Sixmilebridge, Fr. Gerry Fitzpatrick.

Born in 1924, Fr. Gerry was a native of Kilmihil and was ordained in 1950, beginning his ministry in England, before serving in Roscrea, Knockerra, Kilkishen, Kil-lime-r and Sixmilebridge until 1997 when he retired to reside in Cahercalla Community Hospital.
His funeral will take place in Ennis on Saturday, followed by burial in Kilmihil Cemetery with his parents.
