Former President Mary McAleese Visits Clare To Unveil Michael Cusack Bust

Former president Mary McAleese is visiting Clare today to unveil a bronze bust of GAA founder Michael Cusack.

The bronze head, which has been donated by former ‘Up For the Match’ producer Mick McCarthy, will be unveiled at the Michael Cusack Centre in the founder’s home parish of Carron.

Ms McAleese has a strong GAA connection through her role as Chairperson of the integration process between the Camogie Association, the GAA, and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.

Chair of the board of the Michael Cusack Centre Dónal Ó hAiniféin says the former president is well-versed on Cusack’s contribution to Irish culture.
