A former Mayor of Clare believes the return of the Shannon to Chicago route is the first step towards exceeding pre-pandemic traffic levels at the regional airport.
United Airlines will operate a daily service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport from the 26th May next year.

It’s the first time since 2017 that the route will operate out of Shannon and is expected to increase the airport’s annual passenger numbers by 30,000.
Independent Sixmilebridge-based Councillor, PJ Ryan, believes this is only the stepping stone towards further growth at Shannon Airport.
