Former Mayor of Ennis says Fleadh effort must continue

An former Mayor of Clare is warning that Ennis and Clare can't rest on their laurels, even though the right to host next year's Fleadh has been secured.

Five years of effort paid off last weekend, when it was announced that the world's largest traditional music festival will return to Clare for the first time in forty years.

There are also strong hopes that the event will return the following year too, but East Clare Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Hayes is warning that's not guaranteed.

Councillor Hayes, a brother of noted traditional fiddler Martin Hayes, feels a county wide effort will be required to ensure things go well.
