A former Mayor of Ennis is calling for the return of guaranteed funding for roads in the area.
Each of the former town councils received a block grant for road infrastructure, with up to a half a million euro going to Ennis each year.
However, following the abolition of the town councils under Local Governement reform in 2014, the grant was removed, with road repairs now paid for out of a discretionary fund.
Councillor Johnny Flynn says there are many projects in Ennis that need attention and he believes there should be a specific fund available for this.
