A former IRA commander's been shot dead in the street in south Belfast.

Gerard "Jock" Davison was gunned down in Welsh Street in the Markets area at around nine this morning.
The victim, in his late 40s, was previously linked with the murder of Robert McCartney, who was stabbed outside a Belfast bar in 2005 – but was never charged.
